Nice article. I particularly like the way people have a choice and get more when they pay more.

My question to you and the readers is what about the mass of readers who don’t have the cash to spare or are suffering doing the economic downturn? Not to sound too philosophical, but does payment for content create a have/have not society where only those with money to spend get all the extras?

Another way to look at this is when there are multiple sites. Now I have limited discretionary funds, so do I spend them on BBC articles or Guardian articles? Wait, I also like the Register, now am I stuck with a constant outflow of money since I like all three sites?
